I think your mystery bird on the golf course may be a Wheatear.

I’m also suspicious that your “Yellow Wagtail” may actually be a Grey Wagtail (its tail looks v. long and its legs are relatively short). Both, confusingly, have yellow on them.

I’ve finally found you! Looks like you are still working in software but the visitors book looks a bit dormant so here I am to liven it up. I can’t remember how many years (decades?) since we last met but I’ve been in Oz now some 25 years. I retired 5.5 years ago and moved away from the big smoke (Sydney) to a great spot near the beach. Hi Pete,
hope you get my mail. Since I eventually got internet in our village (between Hamburg and Bremen), I managed to find your name. How are you doing? Are you still in New Zealand? Would be delighted to have an answer.
I am working in Bremen and bought a house in the country side. My mother is 85 years now, and living here, too. I am divorced (of course) and found a nice, new relationship, sharing work and country life with me.
