Hi I am Dawn Blasdale I live in Leicester,England. My father sadly now deceased was John Ernest Blasdale born June 30th 1923. He was born in Coventry his father was also John Ernest born 1899. My father was an only child. But he himself had 6 children John, Dennis, Keith, Peter, Wendy and of course myself. I am amazed at how many Blasdale’s there are in the world. It would be lovely to hear from anyone connected with the Coventry Clan in any way, or anyone who may have known my dad and family. Please contact.

Hi, my name is Diane Blasdale. I am 52 years old and have a 10 year old daughter Rebecca. I was born in Nottingham where I still live, my father was James Blasdale, he had a brother Leonard and 2 sisters Phyliss and Anice.My grandparents were also from Nottingham. I am aware relatives on my dad’s side emigrated to Australia some time ago.I wonder if I have relatives out there or whereever.It would be great to hear from anyone who thinks we might be related.

It is really time someone got down to it and worked out a family tree. As far as I can see most of us originated from the Nottingham area in the U.K. Iam Michael, my brother was John, my father was Charles and he had a brother, Fred and three sisters -Doris, Elsie and Ethel.

How Bizzare, i was just seaching on this Website (Which by the way may i state is very well done) and to my surprise, My sister Ruth, half sister Carol and Brother Michael have already logged in and told me nothing about it…. I never would have believed that there was so many Blasdales in this world. My Grandad JOHN BLASDALE from Nottingham, i would love any information any one thinks they know. As for all the other Blasdales out there, well i guess you all thought your name was different as well…. This website proves us all wrong in the nicest way possible….. Joseph Blasdale born in 1828 Sutton in Ashfield and married Elizabeth and their children were:- Arthur (b.1863), Edward Allen(b.1867), Joseph Frederick(b.1869), John(b.1855), Annie Rebecca(b.1861), George(.1865)….. any more? Joseph was a blacksmith and Arthur too. Edward Allen was a printer, George was a bookeeper then a traveller, eventually to the USA. Joseph was a solicitor’s clerk. John was an engineer but was a machinist in Philadelphia.John was my great grandfather. He played the organ in Philadelphia Cathedral. My grandfather was a teacher of music. My father was a priest. My brother restores organs and plays the organ all over the place. Any more information please?

Further information for Patrick Blasdale: Your great great grandfather Allen had 4 brothers, Joseph, George, Arthur and John and 2 sisters, Annie and mary. Arthur was my great grandfather.We have a son called Patrick too, aged 10, and daughters Kirsty and Anna (though unfortunately not Blasdales!) so you have a distant cousin Patrick.My dad is Philip Blasdale - I am sure you already have details of that side of the family as i think he and your grandad (? Hi, like everyone else I’m interested to hear of other blasdales. My fathers family are from the Nottingham area - seems to be a common link. My grandfather was Edward Allen Blasdale, Known as Allen, born 1895. Must be related to the grandfather of one of your other correspondants - same unusual spelling of the christian name. My father was an only child (as far as we know!)so it can’t be the same man.I have put together a rough family tree of what i can find of our branch for the last4 generations and would be interested to see if it slots in with anyone elses. Music seems to feature quite a lot - my great great grandfather Arthur was a composer, and other members v musical. have others found this?

To Michael In Norfolk.Think your grandfather had the following children. Fred Ralph Harold Doris Elsie. Fred had a son Barry who was sent to Oz after the war. I have met him and there is no doubt he is a Blasdale (He looks the same as Harold his Uncle)Ethel was your granmother.

I’m the daughter of Jean and Herbert Halsey Blasdale, born in Berkeley, CA in 1953. My mother was in contact with Christopher Blasdale a couple of years ago, and learned that he was putting together a book about the Blasdale family genealogy. She hasn’t been able to keep in touch with him (she has no access to the Internet) but is curious to find out what has happened to the project.My father, Herbert Halsey Blasdale, was born in Berkeley, California on August 8, 1910.My grandfather was Walter Blasdale.My great grandfather was Charles Blasdale.At the moment, I am on vacation with my mother so I do not have access to the genealogical data she has put together or I would be able to give you more information.Any response would be great!Thanks!Janice Blasdale Davenport

My grandfather and father were both born in Nottingham.My gradfather had five children, Charles, (my father) Fred who was killed in the first world war and Doris, Ethel and Elsie. They are all now dead. The only one to have children was Charles, two sons John and Michael and Jean, all born in Warwickshire. Hi to all the Blasdales! - I’m currently researching my family tree and think I may have discovered a link with the Blasdale family in Nottingham. My fathers’ name is Michael Hallam-Clarke (and his father was George Hallam-Clarke) and I’d had no luck with name - My father has recently found a limited family tree that his father George drew up and it appears that Georges’ father (my great grandfather) was an Arthur Blasdale from Nottingham. We think he was married to a Beatrice Mary Adams (her maiden name?) and they had 7 children - John Arthur, Edward Adams, Roland Harry, James Blasdale, Harold (nickname Jelly), George (my grandfather) and Beatrice Jennifer (who we think was known as Jenny and married a vicar called Aggasi). At some point the family name changed to Clarke and we believe Arthur (and family) moved to Ramsgate in Kent where he was the Town Clerk. Does this tie into any existing Blasdale tree?

Trying to contact Fred Blasdale’s (killed in ww2 1940), sister who adopted a little girl 1945. Given name of child AUDREY. I will though be very pleased to be contacted by any of the BLASDALE clan from where ever. Also am trying to get a better picture of the history of the name BLASDALE and it’s dirivitives. Have tracked the name as far back as 1500’s. I have been corosponding with Steve for some time and also there are BLASDALE’s in South Australia. So we’re everywhere. My son, Patrick Blasdale (8), is doing a family tree. We have quite a lot of detail but are intersted in any details of Allen Blasdale - born around 1875 - who was my Great Grandfather or anyone else called Blasdale in that period or before. We have some details of his 4 brothers (Arthur, George, Joseph and John) and 2 sisters (Annie and Mary) I guess that with a name like Blasdale I must be related to anyone with the same name!!!
