Today was a long drive to Etosha game reserve.  We had a leisurely start at 9, backtracking a little from where we had come from,  then turning left (East towards Etosha).  Some 400K drive.

We stopped off for fuel, and  then later for an ice cream.  Magnums  again.  Luxury.   At the Grootberg Pass we stopped for some photographs and then headed down into the plain, stopping for lunch in a layby.

Final stop in a town called Outjo where François’s son had been educated.  Some craft shops, where T-shirts and coke can craft were bought.  We would be returning here on the way back from Etosha.

Not far to Etosha now,  the hotel is outside the park.  It was the biggest lodge we have been to.  A bit more organised, but not quite.  Our drivers and guides had to deliver our bags to the hotel.  The food service was quick,  buffet.  The waitresses and cooks came out to sing and dance for us after the meal.  The wine was the cheapest of all the lodges.

Our room looked straight out into thick bush, but not much to see, other than a Dik Dik digging a hole, and peeing into it.
