The morning started with a drive to the petroglyph (rock carving) site of Twyfelfontein, Namibia. We walked around with a guide showing us numerous carvings of animals on the rocks. Very warm, so had a drink in the visitor centre where some cheeky birds came down and sat on the backs of the chairs. I have included a few pictures of these petroglyphs.
Lunch back at the Mowani lodge, then out for a game drive to see elephant. We drove down a dry river bed where it was believed elephant were. Eventually caught up with a lone young male elephant. Headed back as it was believed the breeding herd the male was following would be too far ahead. Turned out the breeding herd was headed back the other way, and was spotted by the other vehicle. Pictures not very good, as at this stage the wind was blowing and there was quite a sand storm.
Back to the lodge for game salad and stuffed chicken supper. There are several pictures of the lodge, including some in the distance showing the sand blowing up the valleys. Looks like mist, but is actually sand.
