Kingswood Bonfire Night

The Kingswood bonfire night was held on a dry Saturday. Ian excelled himself with the largest bonfire we have ever had and a brilliant (in both senses of the word) firework display. The heat from the fire was intense. Julie had yet again organized a guy which quickly succumbed to the heat.

As is usual we were supplied with hot burgers and sausages from our excellent village catering team of Karin, Duncan, Keith and Charlotte. Beers & wines kept coming from the man with the festival hat, George.

Thanks are also due to the Hubbards for hosting the event. It’s certainly not everyone who wants a large burn mark on their lawn!

Very sadly, this may have been our last bonfire night. After Ian’s exemplary 25 years of sterling service, someone else is now needed to carry on the tradition..

Kingswood Firework Party

Unusually we had the Kingswood Firework party this year on the actual fifth of November. But, as is usual, we had a magnificent bonfire & fireworks & BBQ. No guy to burn this year, despite plenty of candidate effigies, such as a lettuce, a Liz or a Boris. The weather was a little damp, although the rain did hold out to the end of the firework display. Those finishing off the burgers, bangers, beer and wine did have to shelter under the canopies when there was a short torrential downpour.

For a few, the evening ended in a Kingswood house where a considerable volume of whisky etc was consumed, amidst much camaraderie.

Kingswood Firework Party

The annual Kingswood firework party was held on the 6th November 2021. It was well attended. Usual brilliant display of fireworks (thank you, Ian) and a large bonfire.

Expertly cooked burgers, onions & sausages.

As you can see, it was a breezy evening.

Our usual Kingswood Firework party has held on the 9th of November, so as not to clash with the bigger firework display in Brill. The party was held in the traditional location, thanks to the new owners.

The weather was not pleasant, cold wet rain. Thankfully shelter had been erected, so we could all stand and watch in the dry. As usual, there was an ample supply of sausages and burgers cooking on the BBQs along with wine and beer. Thank you to all the helpers.
